Remembering Our Way Home
A criss-crossing journey out of a traumatic childhood and into healing and redemption, this volume of essays is part memoir, part meditation, part spiritual manifesto, all truth. Remembering Our Way Home may be your next favorite read if you love Glennon Doyle, Alan Watts, or Mary Oliver. It is one of Fen’s proudest accomplishments to date.
Summer: Messages From The Land
This book of daily reflections will nourish you through the season with inspired messages from native Appalachian inhabitants including bobcats, cicadas, black bears, salamanders, jewelweed, maples, and more, all sharing their unique medicine to help you claim your peace and self-sovereignty. This book is the first in a planned four-part Seasons series.
Morning After The Road Trip
An MMA fighter’s son is dead but his avatar lives in an alternate reality. An operative whose one outstanding skill is being remarkably unremarkable finds his position compromised by a baffling person. Ten years after a pandemic wipes out an entire nation, one survivor discovers that she is less alone than she thought. This collection of short stories explores the theme of love in many forms.

I’m Fen, and I’m an Appalachian nature and spirituality author.
My work, both fiction and nonfiction, has appeared in publications as varied as Grit, Thistle and Oak, and Connect and Construct, among many others. I started writing as a child almost before I started school, and never stopped. My work is deeply rooted in my intimate connection with the sacred lands I walk and the many beings I share them with, as well as an abiding trust in the deep beauty of humanity and our ability to return to right relation with our world.
In addition to reading, writing, and helping others write their books, I enjoy hiking, camping, swimming in waterfalls, deep conversations around the campfire, and spending time with my three young adult children. I live in Asheville, North Carolina, where all of these activities are in rich supply.
You can find more of my work on Facebook, where I am very active, as well as on Patreon, where you can support my work directly and explore exclusive content such as behind the scenes news and photos, weekly messages from the land, and early releases. Come join me–I would love to get to know you.
