I’m Fen, and I Write Things
I started writing before I started school, and I never stopped. Somehow, I grew up to be a best-selling, award-winning author.
My work has been featured in publications as wide-ranging as literary journals, construction technology magazines, business news periodicals, sales-industry blogs, and down-home country living publications.
I’ve published five books, and I write essays, feral sermons, and unhinged rants near daily for Patreon and Facebook. I almost always have a couple manuscripts in progress as well.
These days, my writing is deeply rooted in my intimate relationship with the sacred lands of Southern Appalachia and the Blue Ridge Mountains. My work lives in the intersection between spirituality, raw honesty, wry humor, and an abiding love for my fellow beings, human and otherwise.
In addition to reading, writing, and helping others write their books, I backpack, camp, swim in waterfalls, and serve the whims of my three cats and one dog. And torture my community with poetry open-mic readings of whatever snippet I’m proudest of at the moment. I live joyfully with two of my three adult sons in beautiful Asheville, North Carolina.
